Fun with fondant and more baking!

I haven't played with fondant in a long time so I thought I would give it another whirl. I am very envious of others that use this with terrific looking results. I used the marshmallow fondant recipe because...frankly the other stuff tastes awful.
A very dear friend of mine had her 17th birthday and was my next baking target. As you can see I got a little carried away once I started. It was originally only going to be 1 cake... :-)

After all was said and done it was a cake, a huge cupcake, small cupcakes and Bakerella's cupcake bites. I just adore those cupcake pops she makes!

The bottom square cake was chocolate with cookies n cream filling. It was covered with pink fondant. The big cupcake on top was inspired from an idea I saw over at this site Oh, Sugar!

This is a melted chocolate shell and on the inside was a confetti cake with strawberry filling! I also covered that in chocolate fondant and pink polka dots...even thought you can't see that part. I used a yummy buttercream frosting and chocolate & strawberry Whoppers.

I was pleased with it for the most part.

I need lots of practice with fondant... :-0

I adore cupcakes!

Aren't these the most yummy looking things ever? I had so much fun making them for a school fundraiser.
